Two Top Executives Named to Lead Innovative
Therapeutics Company

NEW YORK, NY, March 16, 2006 - Cure Therapeutics, an early-stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of an important new class of nitric oxide-based drugs used to treat musculoskeletal disease, today announced the appointment of two executives to key positions in the organization.
Dr. Ronald Burch, with nearly 20 years of experience in the pain management field, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Joining him will be Dr. Robert Ang, who brings with him first-rate clinical and operational experience. Dr. Ang takes over the duties of Chief Operating Officer. Both appointments take place immediately.

We are very pleased to have these two individuals on board,” says David M. Geliebter, Cure Therapeutics’ Chairman, adding, “With their presence we can aggressively move forward in bringing OrthoDerm® to market.” OrthoDerm® is a novel and innovative treatment for tendonitis, a condition most often associated with such work- and sports-related afflictions as tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendonitis and jumper’s knee.

Dr. Burch, who had previously sat on the Scientific Advisory Board of Cure Therapeutics, co-founded AlgoRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in 2001, serving as its Chief Executive Officer from inception until its merger late last year with Corgentech (Nasdaq:CGTK). AlgoRx was a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of drug products to treat pain, taking one product to NDA, another into late Phase 2 and a third into Phase 1 clinical studies. Dr. Burch led AlgoRx through multiple private equity rounds of funding totaling $89 million.

Prior to joining AlgoRx, Dr. Burch was employed at Purdue Pharma, a privately held pharmaceutical company, from 1995 until 2001, serving in a number of managerial positions, including vice president, scientific evaluations and immunotherapeutics, and project manager and medical safety officer for several pain development programs. From 1993 to 1995, Dr. Burch was director, pharmacology at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company, and in 1992, Dr. Burch was director, immunology and bone metabolism at Rhone Poulenc Rorer, a global pharmaceutical company, and director, pain and inflammation at Nova Pharmaceutical Corp., a pharmaceutical company. From 1987 to 1991, Dr. Burch served in various capacities at Nova Pharmaceutical. Dr. Burch obtained a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina, and served as a Medical Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health.

“Ron is an outstanding choice for the job – a superb researcher and proven leader,” states Geliebter, adding, “His experience in this field will be invaluable as we grow the organization.”

“In my capacity as a member of Cure’s Scientific Advisory Board I witnessed first-hand the strength of this company, its intellectual property, strong clinical evidence from human studies, and rich product pipeline,” says Dr. Burch. “I’m excited about leading the effort going forward."

Joining Dr. Burch as part of the senior management team is Dr. Robert Ang, who, previously was a Senior Associate with Carrot Capital Healthcare Ventures, the principal investor in the company. While there, Dr. Ang was instrumental in helping establish Cure Therapeutics. Prior to Carrot, Dr. Ang worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery Ventures office. Prior to this, Dr. Ang was with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the Sydney, Australia office. At BCG Dr. Ang focused on life science projects, working in the Australian medical devices, medical services and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Ang studied medicine at the University of Western Australia, and completed a medical internship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth’s leading teaching hospital, then began a surgical residency. Dr. Ang also holds an MBA with Honors from Columbia Business School.

“We’re very pleased Robert is part of the team,” says David Geliebter. “Having been involved from the creation of the company while at Carrot Capital Healthcare Ventures to helping nurture it along to this point, his understanding of the business and passion for the science will certainly help during the next phase of the company’s growth.”
