OrthoDerm™ Enters Phase 2b Clinical Testing

NEW YORK, NY — March 19, 2007 — Cure Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that its Investigational New Drug application for OrthoDerm, a transdermal patch for chronic tendonitis, recently completed review by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Cure Therapeutics also announced that its Phase 2b dose-ranging clinical trial of OrthoDerm in patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) has begun recruiting subjects.

“OrthoDerm is a specially formulated patch that releases nitroglycerin which is metabolized to nitric oxide, a molecule known to regulate healing in many different tissue types,” said Ronald M. Burch, M.D. Ph.D., Cure Therapeutics’ Chief Executive Officer. “As three initial investigator-initiated, randomized, double-blind clinical studies have successfully demonstrated, OrthoDerm is expected to have utility in the treatment of chronic tendonitis. Tendonitis affects more than 30 million per year in the US alone, and is a debilitating condition for which there are limited treatment options and significant unmet medical needs.”

The randomized, double-blind Phase 2 trial will evaluate three dose levels of OrthoDerm. Up to 164 patients are expected to be enrolled in the trial at six centers, and the trial is anticipated to be completed in late 2007.

“We are excited to enter Phase 2 clinical testing of OrthoDerm, our lead product,” said Robert Y. Ang, M.D. M.B.A., Cure Therapeutics’ Chief Operating Officer. “We look forward to the development of future products to further explore the benefits of our technology in other musculoskeletal diseases.”
